1. Scope:

The incumbent would be responsible for Laboratory management.

2. Main Duties & Responsibilities:

3. Performs laboratory tests and experiments which may include various assays.

4. Operates requisite laboratory equipment and instruments; records data; maintains and makes minor adjustments to equipment.

5. Uses universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from bio hazardous materials, including blood-borne pathogens.

6. Complies with biohazard/radiation safety standards through proper handling of potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents and/or radiation sources in the workplace.

7. Prepares sterile media such as agar in plates, jars, or test tubes for use in growing bacterial cultures.

8. Prepares solutions, reagents, and stains following standard laboratory formulas and procedures.

9. Uses sterile techniques to avoid contaminating lab experiments.

10. Prepares, cleans, sterilizes, and maintains laboratory equipment, glassware, and instruments used in research experiments.

11. Monitors inventory levels, orders materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures, counts orders upon receipt.

12. Knows the informal policies, procedures and practices necessary to conduct the normal function of a specific section, unit, or work area. Is aware of the role of the position and its potential impact on the working unit.

13. He is responsible for the outsourcing of the lab test the timely retrieval of the reports

Personal Specification:Candidate should be a BMLT/ DMLT with 0-3 years of experience in working at Labs at the Hospital or reputed diagnostic center.

Skills:

* Team player, * Knowledge of Compliance to protocols of Lab, * Internal customer feedback: turn around times for performing tests and their reporting, *Cost consciousness
