Job Description
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and control Lab expenses wherever possible and ensure they are in line with the budgeted expenses
Reviews supplies inventory to maintain optimal stock without excessive inventory.
Set up cost control modules for all tests
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all Laboratory personnel follow the established customer interaction protocols
To interact with customers and obtain feedback through a feedback system to minimize customer/patient complaints.
Ensure that patients / customers receive the laboratory tests on time.
PROCESS RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains departmental policies and procedures, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Transcribing materials, filing and maintaining all pathology and clinical laboratory files.
Maintain the department equipments and supplies in an orderly manner.
Prepares written documentation and maintains files as required.
Ensures the Quality assurance controls for all lab tests are done.
Reviews and update all laboratory procedure area wise and consults the head pathologist when required.
Ensures that the NABL standards & process is in place as per the deadline
All statutory obligations regarding departmental licensing and blood storage requirements are in place.
Responsible for timely setting of KRA and review as per the PMS guidelines
PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for all Laboratory staff who report to the position.
Provides on job orientation to Laboratory staff and keeps them informed of the philosophies, policies, and procedures to be followed in caring for patients and their families.
Provides in-service and /or continuing education for the Laboratory staff
Evaluates the work performance of the staff.
Sanctions and recommends leave and vacation schedules for the staff.
Counsels staff on personal and work problems.
Plans staff work assignments and schedules.
